After a series of events end investigations the Spanish federation
finally announces what the cycling community has been anticipating to
hear. The rider will be banned for one year after his recent failure in
last year’s Tour doping test. This announcement was officially made
yesterday by Jahinto Vidatre, who is Alberto’s spokesman.
Contador
seems to have threatened to withdraw and end his career if he is finally
suspended. Nevertheless he has the right to appeal within the next 10
days. This Friday a press conference is scheduled where the rider will
clear things up. In the mean time Contador will stay in Mallorca and
continue training with the rest of Saxo Bank team. However, there’s been
nothing mention about whether his title as 2011 Tout champion will be
removed.
The athlete will focus on his training and forget about everything
else- that’s the only thing that will rise his hopes for a strong come
back at the moment.
