Someone wanted to ‘get’ souvenirs From a Milan exhibition… The
historic jersey of the Italian rider Marco Pantani, was stolen from the
rexhibition/ fair without anyone noticing! The Italian cycling museum
located in the Madonna del Ghisallo had lent this jersey to the fair for
the purpose of the exhibition and now requires the immediate
return!Pantani was the last rider to win the Tour de France and Giro
during the same season. Unfortunately, the rider died in February 2004
at the age of 34 years of a cocaine overdose. Known by the nickname
“pirate” for his style as a biker, Pantani was one of Italy’s most
popular sportsmen. His professional career was overshadowed, however, by
several doping scandals, with a notorious one in 1999 when he was
expelled from the Tour of Italy after a positive test. In 2002 was
expelled again for 6 months after insulin syringe found in his room
during the Giro 2001
