Germany’s Andre Greipel
became the second rider to win twice the Santos Tour Down Under in its
twelve year history! The athletes’ great performance led him to the top
after three first place wins of the event’s six stages.
Despite the fact that he finished fifth last Sunday in the last
stage, the first two wins had already sealed his success. Australia’s
Chris Sutton won the final stage and provided Sky Team with their first
stage win on cycling’s Pro Tour. New Zealand’s Greg Henderson finished
second behind his team mate Sutton in Sunday’s last stage to move into
third place overall. Finally, Lance Armstrong, finished 25th overall in
his first outing with his new team Radio shack.
