The Texan athlete has
already travelled to Australia in order to participate in Tour Down
Under, along with the rest of RadioShack Team. As he stated, the Team
expects at least one stage victory.
He is considered to be in good
shape- definitely in better form than last year- but he is not going to
win the overall classification race himself, as he admitted. After all,
there are strong athletes like Greipel, Davis and Valverde who are going
to give their best.
Although, Armstrong himself feels ready and well prepared after
having completed a demanding training program , he admits that the key
to the Tour is his team-mates’ performance. The RadioShack line up for
the Santos Tour Down Under includes Daryl Impey, Jason McCartney,
Yaroslav Popovych, Sιbastien Rosseler and Tomas Vaitkus but Armstrong
designated Gert Steegmans as its man to watch. “He will be a factor in
the race,” said Armstrong.
