2009 was a year full of
controversy , excitement and emotions for cycling. Lets take a quick
look at the best moments…
GREATEST RACE : Although , most of the Tours were a
dissapointment , with doping scandals and low quality spectacles, it is
fair to say that Paris- Roubaix was a great race afterall.
PERSON OF THE YEAR : Undoubtedly the American Armstrong. Lance did
not manage to win anything on his comeback but he kept our interest with
his broken collar-bones and his conflicts with the journalists.
THE BIG SURPRISE : Bradley Wiggings who finished fourth in Paris
though he was an outsider. At this time Wiggins is preparing his move to
Team Sky. Who could have predicted that last year ?
DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE YEAR : Australia’s Evans who went into the
Tour with great expectations after two consecutive second-place finishes
. Evans finally did not make it and he ended up in the 30th place in the
Alps.What a disappointment!
