Columbia HTC ‘s rider is
making great progress after being diagnosed with Epstein –Barr early
this December. The team doctor suggested that Mark should not
participate in the first part of the camp training which took place the
previous weeks and he is expected to miss the first races of the new
season as well.
As the team manager Rolf Aldag stated , Mark can still focus on his
goals for the season while he is being treated . The athlete himself
declared that he is sorry about the fact that he is goinng to miss the
Down Under Tour but he anticipates for the Grand Tour where he expects
to show his skills. The big challenge for him , however, will be the
second stage of the World Champions in Australia – his homecountry .
