For five days, from 2nd to 5th of September, EUROBIKE was the number
one topic of the worldwide bicycle industry, topping the headlines with
more than 300 world premieres and innovations from the fascinating world
of bicycles.
It took place in Friedrichshafen of Germany, in an area of over
100.000 square meters with 14 trade show halls and it had a total of
1,028 exhibitors from 42 countries, 39.152 trade visitors from 75
countries, 21.000 paying bicycle fans on one Open House Day (2008:
18.000) and 1.556 journalists from 36 countries.
The exhibition had all the new models that will come out in the
market in 2010. Small and big bicycle companies were presented by people
and kiosks in the enormous show space that normally required more than 4
days in order to visit it all.
This world interest exhibition contained:
• impressive bicycle models for athletes and others,
• specialised models,
• high cost bike elements for the improvement of output,
• equipment of new technology,
• unique and impressed designs, etc…
Discussing with the persons in charge of sales of many companies, we
realized that Greeks have a small interest in bicycle in comparison to
other Europeans. Also, people in other European countries have adapted
bicycle in their everyday lives and moreover, they are strongly “open”
to new designs and models. Behind, many exhibitors launched new models
as proposals for people that want to adapt bicycle in their life (to go
to work, to the super market, moving around with their children, etc).
Visiting this exhibition was a great experience. As Messe
Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann summed it up: “This was the best
EUROBIKE of all times” and he praised the excellent cooperation between
police, city officials and trade show organizers on managing traffic and
parking, calling it nothing short of “a quantum leap.”
Finally, thanks to its impressive range of high-quality products,
the leading trade show of the bicycle industry put in nothing less than
a stellar performance.
